Hanson Briggs

Professional Approach

Hanson practices therapy as a holistic discipline. His treatment approach is rooted in neurobiology and evidence-based practices, utilizing attachment theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, psychodynamic theory, and Internal Family Systems. His clinical work addresses teen issues, identity development, and couple therapy. Hanson works with ADHD, screen addiction, pornography use, low self-esteem, hopelessness, anxiety and depression in teens and adult individuals. He works with Borderline Personality Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder, Cluster B symptoms, and the children of parents with these diagnoses. He helps repair broken trust and create effective communication with couples, navigating through conflicts regarding infidelity, codependency, unhealthy boundaries, resentment, and lack of intimacy. He also works with couples on parenting strategies for children of all ages—infancy through young adulthood—developing secure and safe attachment within the family.

Biography

Hanson earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University. He currently works in private practice at Re:Vive in Lenexa, Kansas. Outside of work, Hanson enjoys playing pretend with his kids, going on runs with his dog, watching stand-up with his wife, writing music, and reading about philosophy and psychology.
